One Set, Three Ways: Holiday Party Edition

Who else has a ton of Holiday Parties coming up this month? I secretly live for Holiday Parties, because if you know me… You know that means Special Occasion Shopping. I really shouldn’t. I mean, I have an entire bin filled with sparkly things. BUT, I’m always photographed in these sparkly things and I can’t possibly wear the same thing twice. It’s just not in my nature.

What IS in my nature is finding affordable options. So I always browse the Madden NYC section of Walmart to see if they have anything I can make work. And boy did they! The red was hiding behind the black, so it took me a minute to find, but once I saw this gorgeous sequin mini, I knew I had to get the matching top. At $13 a piece, I walked away with one set and three possibilities for under $30.

The first look above is the two piece set worn together. A pair of sparkly heels and a shaggy long coat and I’m off to my first Holiday Party. At a friend’s waterfront condo with all ladies. I will have door to door transportation (thanks to the Hubs), so open shoes and a crop top work perfectly for this evening filled with champagne and laughs.

The next look, pairing the sequin skirt with a holiday sweater (I got a few years ago at Walmart too) and two toned boots is perfect for the next party. It is a fund raiser for Toys for Tots and at a more upscale restaurant, so I’ll leave the crop top behind. A little leg and a lot of sparkle is the perfect look for this Holiday Party.

The last look is perfect for a Holiday Party at our home. Filled with family and friends, my Zara jeans keep this look festive, but casual. Some sparkly wedges and a chain belt and I’m ready to party.

The set is sold separately, so if you don’t love showing leg or middriff, you can buy one or the other. It does come in black as well, which would be very chic for an evening event. It is “junior” sizing, so I went with a Large on the bottom (I’m an 8-10), but didn’t want the skirt too tight, so it didn’t create muffin top. I stayed true to size in a Medium on the top and it’s perfect to be worn with our without a bra. I usually opt for one, if I can, to give the girls a little extra umph!
